Joe Rogan Not Interested In Calling UFC On ESPN Events
The UFC migrated over the ESPN this year, ending a multi-year relationship with Fox that began back in November of 2011.
Color commentator Joe Rogan, who exclusively calls pay-per-view events for the UFC, says that he won’t call the action for the ESPN cards.
“I’m not interested,” Rogan said during the UFC Fight Night Phoenix fight companion podcast, which is part of the Joe Rogan Experience (via MMA Junkie).
Rogan did initially commentate on the UFC cards that aired on Fox, but gradually disappeared from the broadcasts over time.
Just because Rogan has no interest in being in the booth for ESPN events doesn’t mean that he wants to stop calling the action altogether.
“I was thinking I was on my way out, but I still love it,” Rogan said. “And I love it way more now because I don’t have to do it as much. I love it way more now because we do this because we can do all of this (expletive)-talking, have fun and be silly.”
Fans will get a chance to hear Rogan at the commentary booth at UFC 235 on March 2, which features Jon Jones defending the light heavyweight gold against Anthony Smith in the main event.
