Changes Made To Upcoming Shows Promoted By Frank Warren
A multitude of setbacks has forced an upcoming boxing card in Leicester to be pushed back for a month.
A BT Sport Fight Night card from the Leicester Arena, originally scheduled for February 23, has been pushed back for March 23.
A number of injuries across the board and fight cancellations was named the primary reasons for the change in date. The card will now be headlined by Sam Bowen defending his British and WBO Intercontinental super featherweight titles against an opponent to be named at a later date. Also on the card is CJ Challenger vs. Kyle Haywood for the vacant BBBofC Midlands Area junior middleweight title and Sam Maxwell vs. Kelvin Dotel for the WBO European junior welterweight title.
Another change to the card is the omission of light heavyweight contender Anthony Yarde. Yarde was supposed to fight on the Leicester card but will now fight Travis Reeves on March 8 on a boxing card also promoted by Warren at Royal Albert Hall.
The reason for the change in Yarde’s fight date is because a fight between Arely Muncino and Nicola Adams for the WBO Female flyweight title has been canceled because Adams suffered an injury that will keep her out of the fight. The fight will be rescheduled for later this year. The March 8 show will feature heavyweight prospect Daniel Dubois facing former world title challenger Razvan Cojanu as well as Liam Williams vs. Joe Mullender for the British middleweight title.
