Filip Hrgović Signs Co-Promotional Deal With Matchroom Boxing And Team Sauerland

One of the fastest-rising contenders in the heavyweight division has signed with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing and Team Sauerland.

Undefeated boxer Filip Hrgović has signed a co-promotional deal with Matchroom Boxing and Team Sauerland with his future fights to be screened exclusively live on Sky Sports in the UK and DAZN in the U.S.

Hrgović, a bronze medalist from the 2016 Olympics, has won all seven of his pro fights with five of those wins coming by knockout. Despite only fighting seven times as a professional boxer, Hrgović has already gotten himself ranked in the top 15 by the WBA (No. 9), IBF (No. 12) and WBO (No. 15).

The 26-year-old Hrgović won the WBC International heavyweight title in September 2018 with a third-round knockout win over Amir Mansour. In his last fight, which took place on December 8 in his home country of Croatia, Hrgović won an eight-round unanimous decision against former world title challenger. Kevin Johnson. No date or venue was set for Hrgović’s first fight under his new deal.

Matchroom Boxing gets another heavyweight star, adding to its stable of top boxers competing in the division. Matchroom Boxing has the likes of Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte on its roster while undisputed cruiserweight champion Oleksandr Usyk is expected to make a jump at heavyweight and the company has also promoted boxing cards that have featured the likes of Jarrell Miller and Michael Hunter.
