Errol Spence Jr. and Mikey Garcia To Hold Press Conference Live On Fox
In a rare moment for Premier Boxing Champions, Fox will air a live press conference for PBC’s next pay-per-view event.
On February 16, Errol Spence Jr. and Mikey Garcia will have a press conference to talk about their upcoming pay-per-view main event taking place on March 16. The two will fight for Spence’s IBF welterweight title at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Garcia, the current WBC lightweight champion, will move up two weight classes to challenge Spence and his welterweight title. Should Garcia win, he joins a very exclusive club of boxers to win world titles in at least five weight classes. Spence, arguably the best welterweight in the world, will be making his third defense of the title since winning it back in 2017.
“This is a historic occasion. I can’t recall the last time, if ever, in my 30 years in the sport when there has been a press conference live on broadcast television,’‘ said Tom Brown, President of TGB Promotions in a press release. “It’s just further proof of the commitment that FOX has to the sport and the PBC boxers. It’s also a win for the fans who tune-in because they will get a sneak peek at what awaits when these two champions step into the ring at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on March 16.”
The press conference will air live at 4:30 p.m. ET and take place at the Microsoft Theater at L.A. Live in Los Angeles, hours before Fox airs a PBC card from the same venue. The hour-long show on Fox will be hosted Kate Abdo and feature analysis from former world champion Ray Mancini and current IBF super middleweight Caleb Plant. The main event of the PBC on Fox card will be Leo Santa Cruz vs. Rafael Rivera for the WBA “Super” featherweight title.
