T-Mobile Arena Confirmed As Host Venue For Canelo Alvarez vs. Daniel Jacobs
As expected, Canelo Alvarez and Daniel Jacobs will have their middleweight title unification at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Golden Boy Promotions announced the venue will host the bout for the unified WBA “Super,” WBC and IBF middleweight titles set for May 4. The fight will headline a boxing card that will be streamed on DAZN.

This will be the fourth time Alvarez fights at T-Mobile Arena in his last five fights with the three fights in Las Vegas prior to May 4 being shown on HBO pay-per-view. His last two fights in Las Vegas were against Gennady Golovkin, which ended with the first fight being ruled a draw and then the rematch resulted in Alvarez winning the WBA and WBC titles. Before the two fights against Golovkin, Alvarez defeated Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in the same venue in May 2017.
The fight against Jacobs will also be the second fight in Alvarez’s 11-fight contract with DAZN. Alvarez last fought in December at Madison Square Garden, beating Rocky Fielding to win the WBA “Regular” super middleweight title. Alvarez has since then vacated the title as he no longer appears on the WBA rankings as a titleholder at 168 points.
Jacobs will return to the state of Nevada to fight for the first time since he lost to Dmitry Pirog in 2010 with the WBO middleweight title on the line. Jacobs won the IBF title in his last fight this past October when he defeated Sergiy Derevyanchenko by split decision. Since then, Jacobs signed a multi-fight deal with both DAZN and Matchroom Boxing.
