Injury Causes Change To Tonight’s WSOF 33 Main Event

The World Series Of Fighting Lightweight Title will not be defended tonight at the World Series Of Fighting 33, as challenger Ozzy Dugulubgov has been suffering from an illness, and has been pulled from tonight’s card.

Lightweight champion Justin Gaethje has also been pulled from the card, because WSOF officials were unable to find a new opponent on such a little amount of time. Brian Foster has stepped up and said that he would have fought Gaethje.

The event will now be headlined by a light heavyweight title fight as champion David Branch (who is also the WSOF Middleweight Champion), defends against Vinny Magalhaes.

Also, the main card will now go on with just five fights instead of the originally advertised six fights, the preliminary card will remain with the originally announced five fight line up.

WSOF President Ray Sefo has stated that Dugulubgov is currently resting in a Kansas City, Misssouri hospital, but he revealed no other details at this point in time.

It is unknown yet if the Gaethje/Dugulubgov fight will be rescheduled for a future event, or if the fighters will simply move onto other opponents and events.

World Series Of Fighting 33 takes place tonight from the Kansas City Memorial Auditorium in Kansas City, Missouri with David Branch and Vinny Magalhaes headlining. Fightful will have full coverage of the event.
