Stipe Miocic Says Daniel Cormier Owes Him A Title Shot, DC Fires Back
Miocic, who hasn’t competed since losing the strap, says that Cormier owes him a shot to reclaim the UFC Heavyweight Title.
“He’s a gentleman like me,” Miocic said to MMA Fighting. “If the roles were reversed, I’d do the same. I’d give him the shot back. I wouldn’t sit around and say, ‘No no, we’re good, I’m gonna fight someone else.’ No, man.”
Cormier, who has defended the gold once since defeating Miocic to win it, would take to Twitter to lambaste Miocic for claiming he is owed a title shot.
I don’t owe anyone shit!

Do you guys wanna know why I’m not fighting @stipemiocic again?
— Daniel Cormier (@dc_mma) February 5, 2019
Reason 1: he’s being entitled, why have I fought since and he hasn’t. He lost the fight is he still the champ? Reason 2: I’m hurt Reason3: how do I do it better? I beat him in a round last time ? https://t.co/sQF4Wu5q6P

DC had previously stated that he would like to retire next month, meaning a rematch may be just out of Miocic’s reach.
