Good morning Fight Fans, and welcome to our coverage of the first round of the WWE World’s Collide Tournament! While you’re here you can leave a comment below, and be sure to come back tonight at 8pm EST for the semi-finals and the finals of the tournament!

 

First Round Matches

Mark Andrews vs Drew Gulak

Mark and Drew lock up and Drew takes Mark down before they exchange head scissors and Mark hops back up to his feet. Drew takes Mark down with an arm drag before Mark lands on his feet when Drew goes for a snapmare and Drew takes Mark down once more with a butterfly suplex. Mark takes Drew down with a single leg, but Drew grabs him and Mark wrists the ankle of Drew before Drew rolls him back for a quick two count. Drew hits a northern lights suplex for a two count before pressing the shoulders of Mark down to the mat for a series of two counts. Drew slams the arm of Mark to the mat and chops him in the corner before elbowing him in the head and stomping him.

Mark comes back with chops and an enzuigiri into a springboard cross body before hitting a sunset flip into a jumping stomp and a standing moonsault for a two count. Drew comes back with a boot and a clothesline before he goes for the Gulock, but Mark rolls backwards for a near fall. They exchange near falls until Drew counters a reverse huricanrrana into the Gulock and Mark nearly wins with Drew’s shoulders on the mat. Drew then rolls Mark up out of nowhere for the pin and the win.

Winner: Drew Gulak defeats Mark Andrews via pinfall.

Travis Banks vs Keith Lee

The two exchange chops to start the match with Lee winning the exchange before tossing Travis across the ring and hitting an overhead belly to belly suplex for a quick two count. Lee hits a running splash in the corner for a two count before Travis hits a shotgun dropkick that just angers Keith before hitting a diving stomp. Travis hits a PK from the apron and a suicide dive before Lee catches him on the second attempt and tosses him back into the ring. Travis counters the Spirit Bomb before Lee catches him coming off of the top and hits the Supernova for the pin and the win.

Winner: Keith Lee defeats Travis Banks via pinfall with the Supernova.

Adam Cole vs Shane Thorne

Adam backs Shane into the ropes for a clean break and exchange standing switches and arm wringers for another clean break when Adam backs Shane into the corner. Adam drops Shane with an shoulder block and takes him down to the mat with a side headlock until Shane gets to his feet and backs Adam into the corner for the break. Shane slams Adam into the mat by pulling him down with his arm before Adam rolls out of the ring and Shane wraps Adam’s arm around the ring post. Back in the ring Shane locks in a straight armbar and wraps his arm around the top rope before sending him shoulder first into the top turnbuckle. Shane hits a low dropkick and locks in a shoulder lock before Adam breaks free and comes back with forearms and a superkick before collapsing to the mat.

Adam clotheslines Shane several times and hits an enzuigiri into a lung blower before Shane rocks him with a European uppercut. Adam hits a running dropkick variation, a lot like Daniel Bryan’s for a near fall before Shane hits an Olympic slam before he goes for a crossface chicken wing and they end up spilling out of the ring. Shane then sends Adam into the ring post before Adam catches Shane up top and superkicks him in mid-air before hitting the Last Shot for the pin and the win.

Adam Cole defeats Shane Thorne via pinfall with the Last Shot.

TJP vs Dominik Dijakovic 

Dom ​​​​​​shoves TJP back when he rushes him and tosses him away again with TJP cartwheeling before Dom hits a release spinning slam for a near fall and a backbreaker for another near fall. Dom locks in a rear chin lock before TJP gets free and snaps the arm of Dom before Dom locks in a double straight armbar and flips into a kick to free himself. Dom misses a boot and gets trapped in the tree of woe before TJP hits a wrecking ball dropkick. TJP locks in an STF before Dom crawls to the bottom rope for the break and starts focusing on the injured arm of Dom. Dom catches TJP in midair and hits a sit-out chokebomb for a near fall and goes for Feast Your Eyes before TJP locks in an armbar.

Dom then muscles his way out of the armbar and lifts TJP up before hitting Feast Your Eyes for the pin and the win.

Winner: Dominik Dijakovic defeats TJP via pinfall with Feast Your Eyes.<

Cedric Alexander vs Tyler Bate

They shake hands and start the match off by grappling and wringing each other’s arms while flipping and rolling until Cedric locks in a bridging submission. Cedric tries to pin the shoulders of Tyler down, but Tyler bridges up to avoid it and locks in a straight jacket hold. Cedric gets to his feet and gets a two count off of a sunset flip and rocked with a bicycle knee by Tyler. Tyler spins Cedric before Cedric kicks him and hits a running clothesline from the apron. Back in the ring Cedric grounds Tyler before rocking each other and Tyler hits Cedric with punches and a back body drop into a running European uppercut in the corner.

Tyler hits a corkscrew European uppercut off of the second turnbuckle and spins Cedric more until he hits a pop-up uppercut for a near fall. Cedric counters the Tyler Driver ’97 and they exchange pin falls off of a variety of pins until Cedric hits a falcon arrow for a near fall. Cedric drops Tyler with right hands before Tyler rocks Cedric with a right hand and Cedric hits a standing Spanish fly for a near fall. Tyler then counters the Lumbar Check and hits a rolling kick into the Tyler Driver ’97 for the pin and the win.

Winner: Tyler Bate defeats Cedric Alexander via pinfall with the Tyler Driver  97.

Tony Nese vs Velveteen Dream

Nese locks in a straight armbar before Dream takes him down with a single leg and Nese gets to his feet while Dream crawls toward him. Nese backs Dream into the corner and misses a right hand before hitting a back elbow and missing a moonsault, but landing on his feet. Dreams comes back with an elbow and right hands  Dream dropkicks Tony out of the ring and hits a diving cross body off of the top before rolling him back into the ring, but Tony catches him up top and hits a gut buster for a two count. Tony beats Dream down in the corner and goes for a suplex that Dream counters into an inside cradle for a near fall before Tony drops him with a running back elbow. Tony misses a triangle moonsault before Dream comes back with clotheslines and a leg drop for a two count.

Dream clotheslines Tony over the top rope who rushes back in and clotheslines Dream before Dream turns him inside out with a boot for a near fall. Tony suplexes Dream into the corner before he goes for a running knee and Dream superkicks him before Tony catches Dream on the top turnbuckle. Dream then sends Tony off of the top rope and hits the Purple Rainmaker for the pin and the win.

Winner: Velveteen Dream defeats Tony Nese via pinfall with the Purple Rainmaker.

Quarter Finals Matches

Keith Lee vs Adam Cole

Adam plays to the crowd before Keith shows off his strength and lifts Adam to the top turnbuckle with one hand before Adam rolls out of the ring and Keith goes out after him. Keith picks Adam up and drops him onto the apron before lifting him from the apron to the top turnbuckle and Adam superkicks the knee of Lee when he slides through the back. Adam slams the knee of Lee into the ring post several times and starts focusing on the knee of Lee once he gets back into the ring. Lee comes back with a flurry of moves for a quick two count before Adam rocks him with an enzuigiri and drops him with a boot for another two count. Adam goes up top and gets caught I midair when going for a diving cross body, Adam countering one Spirit Bomb, but not the second for a near fall, Adam getting his foot on the bottom rope.

Lee misses a moonsault before Adam hits a shining wizard for a near fall and kicks Lee in the side of the head repeatedly. Lee drops Adam with a Mongolian chop before Adam rakes his eyes and superkicks him three more times before hitting another shining wizard for the pin and the win.

Winner: Adam Cole defeats Keith Lee via pinfall with a shining wizard. 

Tyler Bate vs Dominik Dijakovic​​​​​​

Tyler tries to take Dom down and focus on joint manipulation before Dom launches him out of the ring and rolls him back into before hitting a backbreaker and locking in a rear chin lock. Dom turns it into a choke and Tyler fights out of it only for Dom to drop him with a back elbow in the corner. Dom misses a springboard moonsault and Tyler comes back with a running European uppercut in the corner before spinning him. Tyler hits a pop-up European uppercut for a near fall before Dom hits him with a back elbow and tosses him across the ring. Tyler counters Feast Your Eyes before Dom drops him with a running boot for a near fall.

Dom sits Tyler on the top turnbuckle and counters a sunset flip into a superkick before hitting a sit-out powerbomb for a near fall. Dom then hits a corkscrew senton to the outside and rolls Tyler back into the ring before Tyler counters Feast Your Eyes into the Tyler Driver ’97 for the pin and the win.

Winner: Tyler Bate defeats Dominik Dijakovic via pinfall with the Tyler Driver ’97.

Humberto Carrilo vs Velveteen Dream

Humberto takes Dream down who quickly gets to his feet and drops Humberto with a shoulder block before he pops up and Humberto hits a springboard arm drag that sends Dream out of the ring. Dream runs in and drops Humberto before slapping him and hitting a double ax handle off of the second turnbuckle. Dream hits a backbreaker while yelling at Humberto and mocks him before locking in a rear chin lock. Dream dropkicks Humberto in midair when he goes for a hand spring move before Dream hits a snapmare and puts a choke on Humberto. Dream misses a splash in the corner before Humberto hits a hand spring back elbow and a roundhouse kick before he goes for a springboard move and Dream pushes him off and down to the floor.

Dream misses a dive off of the top and Humberto hits a suicide dive before hitting a missile dropkick and a standing moonsault once they’re back in the ring for a near fall. Dream misses a springboard dropkick before getting his feet up when Humberto goes for a moonsault. Dream hits a DDT Ala Bray Wyatt before he misses the Purple Rainmaker and Humberto hits a hand spring suplex for a near fall. Dream rolls out onto the apron when Humberto is on the top turnbuckle and they exchange right hands on the top turnbuckle until Humberto sends Dream down to the mat. Dream then picks Humberto off of the top turnbuckle and hits a rolling DVD or as he calls it the Dream Valley Driver for the pin and the win.

Winner: Velveteen Dream defeats Humberto Carrilo via pinfall with the Dream Valley Driver.
