Jarrell Miller: If I Don’t Fight Anthony Joshua Next, I’ll Play Pro Football
Jarrell Miller may have a different career path if he doesn’t get a big fight against Anthony Joshua next.
According to Miller in a tweet, which can be seen below, an NFL team has offered the undefeated heavyweight contender a contract to play pro football. Miller said playing football is more lucrative, especially since he doesn’t have to give some of his earnings to a promoter.
What IF I TOLD YOU I GOT OFFER FROM A NFL TEAM and If This AJ – Fight – dose not Happen I’m playing foot ball for More MONEY AND I DONT HAVE TO GIVE THESE. DAMMMM PROMOTERS A Fing. CENT Getting tired of THE GREED IN THIS SPORT FROM PROMOTERS THAT AINT TAKING NO PUNCHES pic.twitter.com/VsdAr2KwX7

This wouldn’t be the first time boxing and football are intertwined. Former world heavyweight title challenger Gerald Washington used to play college football at the University of Southern California, then was on the practice squads for the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks and once-beaten heavyweight Ray Edwards previously played in the NFL for the Atlanta Falcons and Minnesota Vikings.
Should Miller decide to go on the pro football route, it would actually be the third sport Miller would try and go pro in. Before becoming a boxer, Miller used to compete as a pro kickboxer, amassing a 21-2 record and fighting Mirko Cro Cop twice.
As far as what his boxing career has in store for him, Miller is currently deep in negotiations to fight Joshua for the unified WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight titles. If the fight gets made, it would likely take place in June at Madison Square Garden in the main event of a boxing card streamed on DAZN.
