Scott Holtzman Looks To Take Out “Gatekeeper” Nik Lentz & Fight On UFC Phoenix

Scott Holtzman is back in the Octagon at UFC Fight Night Phoenix, facing Nik Lentz in a lightweight division affair.

The lightweight prospect has already picked up five wins in the UFC, but he believes a sixth victory in the promotion will lead to a ranked opponent coming next.

“I think so, I don’t think there’s any questioning that. I’m thinking I’m in line for a top 15 guy for sure, I think Lentz has proven himself. He’s up there, it’s a good win and where I’m at…we’re both on the fringe, I think so and I’m gonna beat his ass and turn around (and get a fight) for that Nashville card,” says Holtzman in an exclusive interview with Fightful’s James Lynch.

Holtzman has previously defeated the five pack of Anthony Christodoulou, Cody Pfister, Michael McBride, Darrell Horcher and Alan Patrick in the UFC.

It would seem like outside of the MMA realm, another place fans may catch Holtzman is on the Super Nintendo.

“I still haven’t figured out how to play the N64 games quite yet, I tried messing around with the controller. I’ve mostly played the Super Nintendo games, we’ve played Mario Kart and some other stuff. I’ve been beating up on my wife a little bit in the Mario Kart, I probably played Ken Griffey Baseball the most…I’ve been enjoying that. We’ve been playing Super Mario on the Nintendo to because my wife and I can both play that,” says Holtzman.

UFC Fight Night Phoenix takes place on Sunday, February 17 from the Talking Stick Resort Casino in Phoenix, Arizona with Francis Ngannou and Cain Velasquez headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
