Former UFC Fighter Tiki Ghosn Says Managing Fell Into His Lap
Retired MMA fighter Tiki Ghosn is now a manager for many MMA fighters, including Juan Archuleta, who competed this weekend at Bellator 214.
The retired fighter had no plans to become a fighter manager, but that was before a chance meeting with Rampage Jackson.
“It actually fell into my lap, I was basically coaching and training fighters as well. Rampage Jackson came back and said ‘hey man, I need your help” and I said ‘alright, what do you need?’ He;s like ‘I need a manager” and I’m like ‘alright, lets do it.’ At the time, he found himself in a bad spot. He was in between organizations, in lawsuits and he was in bad shape and (I) got him out of that,” says Ghosn in an exclusive interview with Fightful’s James Lynch.
Ghosn went 10-7-1 during his professional MMA career and the fighter did exit the sport while on a two fight winning streak.
Although Ghosn did end his career on a two fight winning streak, don’t expect the retired fighter to make a comeback.
“You know what, I get the feeling all the time and then you string together like two or three straight weeks of training and I’m like ‘nah, this is probably not a good idea,’” says Ghosn.
Bellator 214 takes place on Saturday, January 26 from The Forum in Inglewood, California with Ryan Bader and Fedor Emelianenko headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
