WWE Raw 1/21 Viewership Falls Off In Third Hour Against Competition From NBA

Heavy competition from the NBA cuts into WWE’s audience.

ShowBuzzDaily reports that the Jan. 21 episode of WWE Raw averaged 2,462,000 viewers. This number is down from last week’s 2,722,000 viewers.

While the company no longer faces football competition on Monday, the show was up against the NBA’s slate of games on TNT. NBA games are not typically televised on TNT on Monday, but the league was celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The third hour of Raw saw a big drop off, which coincided with a marquee matchup between the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers.

Viewership dropped 24.5 percent from the first to the third hour, which is a record drop-off for the company according to the Wrestling Observer.

Monday’s episode averaged a 0.85 rating in the 18-49 demographic, down from last week’s 0.91 rating.
