Rusev Felt Honored To Be Handpicked By Vince McMahon To Face Undertaker At WWE Greatest Royal Rumble

Rusev comments on his Greatest Royal Rumble match against The Undertaker.

Speaking to Sportskeeda, Rusev discussed being picking by Vince McMahon to face Undertaker in a casket match and who else is on his list of legends to step into the ring with.

“I felt honoured to be in the ring with him because The Undertaker has been around for so long. To be handpicked by Vince McMahon to have that match with The Undertaker on pay-per-view…I felt honoured,” said Rusev. “I learned a lot from him, talking to him after, getting pointers, directing me in different directions and being very encouraging. You know that’s all I can ask for. I have a little checklist of people like Triple H, you know I’ve been with the Rock in the ring. Taker. And all these other guys! And not many people get to say the same thing. So I’ve been very blessed throughout my entire career.”

Rusev was in, then out, then back in against The Undertaker at Greatest Royal Rumble. He was briefly pulled in favor of Chris Jericho, but inserted back into the bout. Jericho has claimed that Vince McMahon did not want to showcase him in the match as Jericho was about to face Tetsuya Naito in NJPW.

The Undertaker defeated Rusev in the casket match. You can view highlights of the bout in the video above.
