Conor McGregor Sounds Off On UFC Brooklyn Main Event
UFC Flyweight Champion Henry Cejudo competed in the main event of UFC Fight Night Brooklyn, defeating UFC Bantamweight Champion TJ Dillashaw by first round TKO.
Former two division UFC champion Conor McGregor did check out the fight and commented on what went down via Twitter:
Unlucky T.J on your attempt at Champ Champ status.
Respect for your weight cut. I have been there and it is not easy.
Unlucky Henry on your attempt at fastest K.O in a UFC title fight.
I have been there, and I still am.
Congrats on the win.
Yours truly,
The O.G Champ Champ.— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) January 20, 2019
McGregor, who last competed at lightweight, has already dropped ten pounds and competed down a division at featherweight. Which is similar to how Dillashaw dropped ten pounds to competed a division down at flyweight at UFC Fight Night Brooklyn.
The Irishman also holds the record for the fastest knockout in UFC title fight history, defeating Jose Aldo in just 13 seconds to win the UFC Featherweight Title at UFC 194. Cejudo would win at UFC Fight Night Brooklyn via a 32 second TKO, falling short of McGregor’s record by 19 seconds.
Neither Dillashaw or Cejudo have responded to the comments made by McGregor.
