Pete Dunne Feels That Vince McMahon’s Tweet About NXT UK TakeOver Was The Ultimate Nod Of Approval

Pete Dunne had a detailed conversation with the media following NXT UK TakeOver.

January 12th was the day that WWE’s NXT UK brand held their first TakeOver show. The show was highly regarded by those who watched it and it featured two new champions being crowned, Finn Balor making a surprise appearance, Pete Dunne continuing his reign as WWE United Kingdom Champion and current PROGRESS World Champion WALTER making his NXT U.K. debut.

Following the pay-per-view a tweet was sent out by WWE Chairman Vince McMahon which noted that he did tune in to NXT UK TakeOver after fans in the ‘Empress Ballroom’ chanted, “Are you watching Vince McMahon?”

The WWE United Kingdom Champion Pete Dunne stayed in character on social media but during the post-NXT UK TakeOver media scrum, he stated that Vince’s comment was the ultimate sign of approval.

“I heard Mr. McMahon was watching. It’s great. I think, it goes to show that there’s no difference between a TakeOver in the states and a TakeOver here. TakeOver is TakeOver, and I’m so proud of everybody stepping up and having that pressure [so soon in this] company and I think that’s just Blackpool in general. Two years ago, me and Tyler [Bate] were in a very similar situation, and I think the ultimate nod of approval was for the boss to tweet something like that.” Pete said.
