WBC: Jack vs. Browne, Warren vs. Oubaali Winners’ Next Fight Ordered
While the fight between Manny Pacquiao and Adrien Broner have big ramifications in the welterweight division, a couple of fights on the undercard also could impact their respective divisions.
One of the fights on the undercard of that fight is the vacant WBC bantamweight title bout between Rau’shee Warren and Nordine Oubaali. For some time, the winner was already ordered by the WBC to face interim champion Takuma Inoue next.
The WBC recently revealed on Twitter that the new bantamweight champion is still ordered to face Inoue next, but also made another announcement. The co-main event bout of that card is a light heavyweight bout between Badou Jack and Marcus Browne and the winner will be the mandatory challenger to the WBC title currently being held by Oleksandr Gvozdyk.
Below is the tweet from the WBC regarding the fights:
BREAKING NEWS:
Winner of @BadouJack VS @MarcusBrowne14 will be mandatory against @AlexandrGvozdyk .

Originally, the fight between Jack and Browne was simply a bout for the interim WBA title. The interim titleholder would theoretically be the mandatory challenger to the WBA title being held by Dmitry Bivol, but Bivol is preparing for a fight against Joe Smith Jr. on a DAZN card in March. Both Jack and Browne are ranked as No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, in both the WBA and WBC rankings.
Fightful will have live coverage of the entire card, headlined by Pacquiao vs. Broner for the WBA “Regular” welterweight title.
