Manny Pacquiao vs. Adrien Broner Weigh-in Results: One Titleholder Misses Weight
Although Manny Pacquiao and Adrien Broner did not make weight for their welterweight title fight tomorrow, one of Pacquiao’s fighters unfortunately made weight.
Jhack Tepora, the interim WBA 126-pound titleholder, weighed in at 131.5 pounds at the official weigh-ins for the pay-per-view card from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Tepora was supposed to defend his title against Hugo Ruiz, who weighed in at 125 pounds. Tepora originally had two hours to drop the weight, but Ruiz was not interested in the fight and now Tepora is likely to be stripped of the WBA title.
In Tepora’s place is Mexican featherweight Alberto Guevara, a 28-year-old who sports a 27-3 record. Guevara previously challenged for the IBF and WBC bantamweight titles in 2012 and 2013, respectively, but was unsuccessful in both instances. Guevara has won his last three fights.
As for the rest of the card, everyone else made weight without issue. Below are the official weights for the Pacquiao vs. Broner pay-per-view card:
