Khabib Nurmagomedov Says Conor McGregor Doesn’t Deserve A Rematch
Dana White and other have hinted that a rematch could happen between the two fighters in the future, but Nurmagomedov says McGregor doesn’t deserve a second opportunity at the gold.
“[Laughs] We’ll see,” Nurmagomedov said to the Australian media (via TMZ Sports). “He doesn’t deserve this. Rematch for what? Before last fight he talked, talked but when we were inside the cage he don’t do nothing.”
McGregor hasn’t won a fight since UFC 205 in November of 2016 and has won just two of his last four in the Octagon, while also losing to Floyd Mayweather in a boxing match in August of 2017.
Nurmagomedov is willing to defend the title against anybody, but first has to clear a hurdle with the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) for his role in the UFC 229 post-fight brawl.
“Anyone. Anyone,” Khabib said. “But we have to wait for court. . . We’re just waiting for Nevada Athletic Commission on January 29. I have a call. We will see.”
The NSAC meets on Tuesday, January 29 and they will decide the fates of both Nurmagomedov and McGregor.
