Report: Karl Roberson Replaces Ion Cutelaba At UFC Fight Night Brooklyn

Glover Teixeira was in need of a new opponent for UFC Fight Night Brooklyn after the withdraw of Ion Cutelaba and now he may have one, as Nolan King of Flo Combat is reporting that Karl Roberson will take the short notice opportunity.

Teixeira (27-7-0) has rotated wins and losses in his last six UFC appearances, with his latest bout being a unanimous decision loss to Corey Anderson at UFC Fight Night Hamburg. Teixeira has previously challenged for the UFC Light Heavyweight Title, losing to then champion Jon Jones at UFC 172. Teixeira hasn’t picked up a victory in over a year, with that last win coming against Misha Cirkunov via first round TKO at UFC on Fox 26 in December of 2017.

Roberson (7-1-0) has won two of three under the UFC banner, having defeated the duo of Darren Stewart and Jack Marshman. Roberson also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 3, defeating Ryan Spann by first round knockout. Roberson is going to be making his UFC Light Heavyweight Division debut in this bout, having previously competed as a middleweight in the promotion.

UFC Fight Night Brooklyn takes place on Saturday, January 19 from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York with Henry Cejudo and TJ Dillashaw headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
