Report: 8 Fights Added To Bellator 217, Sinead Kavanagh In Action

A plethora of fights have been added to Bellator 217 according to MMA Fighting, with those encounters being Sinead Kavanagh vs. Olga Rubin, Walter Gahadza vs. Ruben Crawford, Sam Slater vs. Chris Duncan, Richard Kiely vs. Mickael Bucher, Leah McCourt vs. Hatice Ozyurt, John Redmond vs. George Tokkos, Richie Smullen vs. Adam Gustab and Dylan Logan vs. Andrew Murphy.

Kavanagh (5-3-0) has won two of five bouts under the Bellator MMA banner, with those wins coming over Elina Kallionidou and Maria Casanova. Rubin (5-0-0) is coming off arguably the biggest win of her professional MMA career, defeating UFC veteran Cindy Dandois by unanimous decision at Bellator 209.

Gahadza (17-3-0) is undefeated in Bellator MMA competition, defeating Kent Kauppinen by second round submission at Bellator 200. Crawford (16-3-0) is making his Bellator MMA debut in this bout and does so on the strength of a three fight winning streak.

Slater (2-0-0) is also making his Bellator MMA debut in this bout and does so being undefeated as a professional MMA fighter. Duncan (2-0-0) will make his Bellator MMA debut in this encounter and the fighter won six of seven bouts as an amateur MMA competitor.

Kiely (2-1-0) is going to be making his Bellator MMA debut in this bout and the fighter hasn’t picked up a win in over a year. Bucher (3-3-0) is competing in Bellator MMA for the first time and none of his pro MMA bouts have gone past the second round.

McCourt (1-1-0) is making her promotional debut in this bout, having previously competed in the Cage Warriors promotion. Ozyurt (1-6-0) is making her Bellator debut in this encounter and the competitor hasn’t earned a victory in over seven years.

Redmond (7-13-0) is winless thus far in Bellator MMA competition, dropping a bout to Charlie Ward at Bellator 187. Tokkos (3-0-0) will make his organizational debut in this bout and does so having picked up two wins by first round finish.

Smullen (3-1-1) is making his Bellator MMA debut, but was last seen in action at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 27 Finale, losing to Luis Pena. Gustab (3-2-0) is competing for the first ever time in Bellator MMA, but has suffered two losses by way of KO/TKO.

Logan (2-3-0) is making his Bellator debut in this encounter and he hasn’t picked up a victory in well over a year. Murphy (1-1-0) is making his Bellator debut in this bout and is also returning to action for the first time in over two years.

Bellator 217 takes place on Saturday, February 23 from the 3 Arena in Dublin, Ireland with James Gallagher and Steven Graham headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
