IBF Orders Negotiations For Josh Warrington vs. Kid Galahad
Josh Warrington may have to put his plans to unify world titles on hold as he has a mandatory challenger looking to cash in on his world title opportunity.
According to Michael Benson, Warrington, the current IBF featherweight champion, has been ordered to defend his title against Kid Galahad. The two are currently ordered to undergo negotiations immediately with a February 6 deadline to make a deal. Should negotiations go beyond the February 6, then purse bids will be ordered for the title fight.

Warrington, who won the title this past May, recently defended his title against former champion Carl Frampton. Warrington defeated Frampton by unanimous decision in Manchester on a fight that was streamed in the United States on ESPN+.
Galahad is the current No. 1 contender to the IBF belt. Galahad, who is victorious in all 26 of his pro bouts, won a title eliminator on a Matchroom Boxing USA card in Boston back in October when he won a title eliminator against Toka Kahn Clary. That fight was part of a DAZN card that was headlined by Demetrius Andrade’s WBO middleweight title win over Walter Kautondokwa.
