Shinsuke Nakamura Says Most In WWE Are Underrated Due To TV Restraints

Shinsuke Nakamura believes many in WWE are overlooked.

The former United States champion has spent the last three years in WWE, working with everyone from Samoa Joe and Bobby Roode in NXT to Jeff Hardy and Rusev on the main roster. During his time in the company, Nakamura discovered that many WWE talents are underrated due to the restraints of television.

“Honestly, most people in WWE are underrated,” said Nakamura to Sports Illustrated. “I can choose so many people. They have so much ability but can’t show everything on TV. Everybody has a great ability to wrestle, and you can see that at the house shows. Tye Dillinger, Shelton Benjamin, Primo and Epico, the Bludgeon Brothers, the New Day, they’re all underrated.”

Most fans don’t get to see the wrestling ability of those mentioned by Nakamura as all of them, with the exception of New Day, barely wrestle on television and almost never make the pay-per-view events. Meanwhile, those in NJPW — where Nakamura worked from 2002 to 2016 — get more of a chance to showcase their in-ring ability.

Nakamura is currently involved in a feud with Rusev, another superstar who many online feel is one of the more underrated and underutilized talents in WWE.
