Fight-size Boxing Update: Manny Pacquiao Reacts To Mayweather-Nasukawa, WBA Gives Awards, Dmitry Bivol’s Next Fight

Manny Pacquiao potentially made a jab towards the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Tenshin Nasukawa exhibition bout from Rizin 14 on Twitter. Mayweather, who stopped Nasukawa in the first round after three knockdowns, was significantly bigger in size than the Japanese kickboxer and Pacquiao stated that he would only fight boxers of his own size that are experienced in the ring.

– The World Boxing Association (WBA) announced their year-end awards for 2018, giving promoter Eddie Hearn, undisputed cruiserweight champion Oleksandr Usyk and unified women’s middleweight champion Claressa Shields awards among others. Below are the WBA awards:

– WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol’s manager Vadim Kornilov said an announcement on the fighter’s next fight, including location, opponent and television platform is expected to be announced in the coming weeks. Kornilov said he and his team are looking for a fight in the United States sometime in March.

– Newly-crowned interim WBC bantamweight champion Takuma Inoue held a press conference the day after his title win over Petch Sor Chitpattana. Inoue and his manager stated that he is looking at a possible fight in April or May against the winner of Rau’Shee Warren vs. Nordine Oubaali for the vacant WBC bantamweight world title.
