Lucha Underground Viewership A New Season Low

Even Lucha Underground isn’t safe from the extremely low numbers that wrestling shows have been suffering, as this week’s episode of Lucha Underground drew the lowest numbers of the season.

The September 28 episode of Lucha Underground on the El Rey Network drew a total of 123,000 viewers, which is down 8.2% from last week’s total of 134,000 viewers and the lowest total dating all the way back to season 2, according to PWTorch. The previous low came on the June 15 episode during season 2 which drew 128,000 viewers.

This week’s first airing drew 85,000 viewers, down 14% from the 99,000 that last week’s first airing drew. The replay drew 38,000, which is slightly up just a bit from last week’s 35,000 replay viewers.

It has not been a good season for the El Rey show, as it’s viewership keeps dropping, resulting in a new season low for this week. The show had not drawn a viewership remotely close to the 234,000 viewers the season premiere saw. The second episode was the highest viewed show after the first episode, but that only drew 154,000 viewers.

This week’s episode featured matches such as Sinestro De La Muerte vs. Prince Puma, Aerostar, Fenix, Drago & Sexy Star vs. Johnny Mundo, Jack Evans, P.J. Black & Taya and a main event of El Dragon Azteca Jr. vs. Chavo Guererro Jr. with Rey Mysterio as the special guest referee.
