Michael Chandler Wrestles Lightweight Title Away From Brent Primus At Bellator 212
Michael Chandler is once again the Bellator Lightweight Champion. Chandler picked up a unanimous decision (50-45 x 3) over Brent Primus in the main event of Bellator 212 to become a three-time champion.
Chandler got off to a hot start, rocking Primus in the first round and easily winning the opening frame of the fight. Chandler found himself in trouble in the second round as he was dropped with a left hand coming in. Primus got the back of Chandler and tried to finish the fight with a rear naked choke, but Chandler managed to fight off the attempt and end up on top. Chandler finished the round strong, battering Primus on the ground and ended up stealing the round from the champion. Rounds three, four and five looked fairly similar as Chandler used his wrestling to plant Primus on his back and control him for the majority of the five minutes.
