Report: Khabib Nurmagomedov Also Granted Continuance By NSAC For UFC 229 Brawl Case
UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov defended the title against former two division UFC champion Conor McGregor in the main event of UFC 229, picking up the win by fourth round submission.
The champion would then hop the Octagon wall to go after McGregor’s team, instigating a huge brawl after the fight itself.
Today was the day that Nurmagomedov was supposed to have his case heard by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC), but that has been delayed because MMA Fighting is reporting that Nurmagomedov has been granted a continuance by the commission. McGregor, who is also expected to be punished by the NSAC, was also granted a continuance last week.
A major factor in the continuance being granted by the NSAC according to the report is that the champion’s legal team and the NSAC were unable to come to an adjudication agreement before the meeting. There is no word at this time as to when either McGregor or Nurmagomedov’s hearing will get rescheduled, as the NSAC hasn’t posted their next scheduled meeting at this time.
Nurmagomedov and McGregor were both given temporary suspensions by the NSAC a short time after the brawl and Nurmagomedov had half of his fight purse withheld.
