Report: Donald Cerrone Faces Alex Hernandez At UFC Fight Night Brooklyn
A lightweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night Brooklyn according to MMA Junkie as #12 (WW) Donald Cerrone faces #12 Alex Hernandez.
Cerrone (34-11-0-1NC) is returning to the lightweight division for the first time in over three years, with his last appearance coming at UFC on Fox 17 in December of 2015. Cerrone has since been competing in the UFC Welterweight Division, compiling a record of 6-4-0 in that weight class. Cerrone has previously challenged for the UFC Lightweight Title, losing to then champion Rafael Dos Anjos at the aforementioned UFC On Fox 17 card.
Hernandez (10-1-0) is currently undefeated under the UFC banner, having defeated the duo of Beneil Dariush and Olivier Aubin-Mercier. Hernandez has suffered just a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came against Jamall Emmers at Hero FC: Pride Of The Valley 2 in June of 2013. Hernandez has only had one bout go the distance in the last three-plus years and that came against Aubin-Mercier at UFC On Fox 30.
UFC Fight Night Brooklyn takes place on Saturday, January 19 from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York with Henry Cejudo and TJ Dillashaw headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
