Nurmagomedov Says Reconciliation Possible With McGregor, Dana White Says Rematch Possible
The rivalry took a turn for the worse when both were involved in the UFC 229 post-fight brawl, but Nurmagomedov does see a day when reconciliation is possible with McGregor.
“…everything is possible. Just as McGregor and I feuded, so we could reconcile,” Nurmagomedov said at a Gorilla Energy Drinks press conference in Moscow.
Nurmagomedov and McGregor are both awaiting punishment from the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) for the UFC 229 post-fight brawl, with that punishment expected to be announced this December.
While reconciliation is possible according to Nurmagomedov, a rematch is also possible according to UFC President Dana White.
“I think you’d have to look at the Conor McGregor-Khabib Nurmagomedov fight; [it] broke records, incredible fight, Khabib wins, which sets up possible fights with Tony [Ferguson] and [Dustin] Poirier and Conor [rematch],” White said to ESPN.
McGregor has hinted before about a potential rematch with Nurmagomedov, while Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov has stated that the only chance McGregor has for a rematch with his son would be if that bout took place in a boxing ring.
