Ryback In Talks With Bellator To Fight

Former WWE wrestler Ryback is looking like he may be the next pro wrestler to be taking a jab at mixed martial arts.

Ryback appeared on X1075 in Las Vegas today and revealed that he's open to the idea of doing MMA and is in talks with the Bellator promotion.

Bellator is no stranger to having pro wrestlers fight in their promotion. Current TNA World Heavyweight Champion Bobby Lashley occasionally fights for Bellator, having won all four of his Bellator fights and most recently fighting back on November 6, 2015. Lashley is scheduled to fight in Bellator 162 on October 21 against Josh Appelt. Ken Shamrock also fought for Bellator earlier this year.

Ryback and WWE parted ways on August 5 with the official announcement coming from WWE three days later. He was absent from WWE television throughout the summer as he and WWE were trying to renegotiate a new contract. He has posted on social media that he had been training in MMA since leaving WWE.

WWE also has history with MMA, bringing MMA stars Shamrock and Dan Severn into the company during the Attitude Era. Former WWE Champion CM Punk recently made his MMA debut in UFC 203 in a losing effort to Mickey Gall.

Ryback is a former WWE Intercontinental Champion and has headlined WWE pay-per-views.
