Natalya Blogs About Being Pulled From RAW’s Women’s Survivor Series Team, Becky Lynch, More

Natalya’s latest blog post.

This past Sunday at WWE’s Survivor Series pay-per-view, Natalya and Riott Squad leader Ruby Riott got into a scuffle during a team meeting with RAW’s women’s Survivor Series team. The scuffle resulted in both Natalya and Ruby being pulled from the team and filling in for them were Sasha Banks and Bayley. Natalya shared that she was excited to be a part of Team RAW coming into Survivor Series and blogged about how she deals with the unexpected; much like how she came into the Staples Center thinking she would be a part of the in-ring action at Survivor Series.

Natalya published her latest column for the Calgary Sun and shared her thoughts about “rolling with the punches” and dealing with the unexpected.

For nearly an entire week leading up to Survivor Series, I was so excited to be in the match, a traditional five-on-five Survivor Series Elimination Match. I felt so much pride being a part of Team Raw as we were to face the Team SmackDown. I couldn’t wait to walk out in front of a sold out Staples Center in Los Angeles and face off against Asuka, Naomi, Carmella, Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose. Little did I know that my teammate Ruby Riott and I would have a backstage incident that would ultimately take both of us out of the match. I asked myself: “What do you do when you didn’t get what you expected?” After Survivor Series this year, I did what I do best: Roll with the punches! After all, it wasn’t just me who didn’t get what I expected. I also thought about Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Ronda Rousey, even the WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar not getting what they originally expected at Survivor Series.” Nattie wrote.

Natalya then went on to talk about the SmackDown Live Women’s Champion Becky Lynch who is recovering from the concussion she suffered on the episode of RAW going into Survivor Series. Nattie noted that while there are a number of stars in WWE who are going through changes, she could not help but think about “The Irish Lasskicker” when it comes to adapting to the unexpected.

“While several of us had to adapt to the unexpected, I can’t help but think specifically of Becky, who was scheduled to have a highly anticipated match against the Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey. Becky wasn’t able to compete in a champion-versus-champion match against Raw champ Rousey because of an injury Becky suffered during a brawl on Monday Night Raw six days earlier. Becky, the Champ on SmackDown has been on an unprecedented roll but facial injuries derailed what was expected to be a historic, if not epic, encounter. “Life is what happens when you’re making plans” as they say.” She shared.
