Jordan Devlin Doesn’t Want To Wrestle Cody Rhodes Due To 2017 Incident; Cody Responds
Jordan Devlin has not forgotten.
Cody Rhodes took to Twitter last week to ask fans who they wanted to see him wrestle in 2019. A few fans answered Jordan Devlin, the current NXT UK and OTT superstar and protege of WWE superstar Finn Balor. Devlin was tagged in one of the tweets and gave a response.
Pass from me. I have respect for both @kitsunenairu and @OTT_wrestling mgmt, I stick to my times. —-

Mate, you could have gone for a three course meal and a haircut while that promo was going on and still made it back.

Devlin is referring to a September 2017 incident at OTT Being The Elite where Cody cut a post-match promo following his bout against Flip Gordon and Fenix. The length of the promo cut into Devlin’s main event bout against Mark Haskins. Fans ended up having to leave the arena before the conclusion of Devlin vs. Haskins due to travel arrangements.
Cody offered up a response to Devlin.
I was unaware we had times. The show was named after us & not dependent on ppv/cable guidelines. The first inkling I got of it was the referee asking me to “take it home”. I felt disrespected by that and didn’t want to short the fans. Apologies if it created issue for you.

“Show runners”…no
Management never complained to me, opposite actually. They were nothing but professional. Considering the pre-show group photo op went so well and was so profitable for their outlet, I assumed it was a symbiotic pleasurable experience.

Cody has not wrestled for Over The Top Wrestling since the incident, although it’s unclear whether that’s his decision or OTT’s.
