Report: Rollins Injured At Clash of Champions
Seth Rollins reportedly was injured during the main event of WWE's Clash of Champions pay-per-view last night.
F4WOnline.com reported that Rollins' injury apparently happened during the top rope gutbuster spot of his WWE Universal Title match against Kevin Owens. The website said Rollins "definitely" was hurt when he returned to the backstage area last night. He complained of having trouble breathing backstage, which could mean a rib injury.
This latest mishap comes approximately four months after Rollins returned to action in WWE following a major knee injury that forced him to vacate the WWE World Heavyweight Title. Rollins regained the title in his first televised match back on the roster, defeating Roman Reigns at Money in the Bank only to immediately lose the title to Dean Ambrose.
Owens and Rollins seem set to continue their rivalry at least through next month's RAW pay-per-view, Hell in a Cell, so time will tell if those plans have to change due to Rollins' physical condition.
WWE already has had to change creative direction once recently due to injury, after Finn Balor suffered a major shoulder injury at Summerslam during a match where he defeated Rollins to become the first Universal champion, then immediately had to vacate the title the next night on Raw because of the injury.
While Rollins has been a regular headliner for WWE since winning the WWE World Heavyweight Title for the first time at WrestleMania 31, this marked the first time Owens had been in a pay-per-view main event in a one-on-one match.
