Bobby Lashley Feels That He Is In A “Good Place” Right Now In WWE
The big man is speaking!
Former two-time ECW Champion Bobby Lashley returned to WWE the night after WrestleMania 34 after being away from the company for ten years. Since being back Lashley has faced off against the likes of Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Elias and is currently involved in a feud with Finn Balor. Over the past week-and-a-half WWE has toured the United Kingdom and along the way the stars of the company spoke with a number of outlets to promote WWE’s forthcoming shows in the U.K.. SPORTbible had the opportunity to chat with Bobby Lashley and during their conversation Lashley stated that he never wanted to leave the sports-entertainment company in 2008.
“I never wanted to leave,” he added. “At the time I needed to step away for a bit, but in that time I fought in Bellator and Strikeforce, in other promotions. I wanted to build myself up and make my character stronger for when I came back. I’m in a good place right now.”
Since Lashley has returned, one of the matches that has been talked about amongst the fans is a bout between Lashley and WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar. As the 2018 SummerSlam PPV rolled around, the rumors began to pick up about that match potentially happening but it never came to fruition. Lashley feels that the match is for sure happening now that Brock is back on top of the Monday Night RAW food chain.
“Absolutely,” Lashley commented when asked if he’d like to square off with the current Universal Champion. “I can post anything on social media and the people will reply we wanna see you and Brock. It’s something that has been building for the last 10 years so eventually it’s gonna happen because the fans want it to happen that bad.”
Over the past few months Lashley has been paired with 205 Live star Lio Rush who has been doing the talking for the big man. Lashley stated that he was one of the people pulling for Lio because he felt that Lio could help him progress on WWE TV and thus far Lashley thinks things are going well with the “23 Year-Old Piece Of Gold”.
“I was one of the people who pulled for him in the beginning. I think he was somebody who could be used in a lot of different ways and he’s kinda my little sidekick. He’s still trying to find his way a little bit, but he’s catching on. Everywhere I go I’m getting chants of ‘LASHLEY’.” He said.
