Report: Brock Lesnar’s New WWE Contract Runs Through WrestleMania; Still Allowed To Take UFC Fight

The Beast is back until at least WrestleMania.

According to Dave Meltzer at MMAFighting, Lesnar signed a new WWE deal that will keep him in the company through WrestleMania 35 in 2019. It was believed that Lesnar’s last WWE date would be Nov. 2 at Crown Jewel, but Roman Reigns’ leukemia forced WWE to change directions. With Reigns sidelined for the foreseeable future, Vince McMahon offered Lesnar a new deal to keep him around for the winter and into the spring.

The deal will allow Lesnar to take a UFC fight, similar to the deal he signed in 2016, which allowed him to fight at UFC 200. A bout between Lesnar and UFC Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier has been rumored and talked about ever since Lesnar and Cormier got into a post-fight altercation at UFC 226.

Cormier plans to retire when he turns 40 this March, but plans to fight one last time on March 2, 2019. Cormier was hoping to face Lesnar in his retirement bout, but no bout has been made official.

Lesnar won the Universal Title for a second time last Friday at Crown Jewel when he defeated Braun Strowman for the vacant title. He is scheduled to face AJ Styles next Sunday at WWE Survivor Series.
