Charlotte Flair Gives Her Take On Why It Was The Right Time To Have An All-Women’s PPV

“The Queen” explains from her viewpoint.

It is coming up on one-week since WWE ran its first-ever all-women’s PPV ‘Evolution’. The night featured the in-ring returns of Molly Holly, Alundra Blayze, Kelly Kelly, Trish Stratus and Lita among others. There were three championships defended on that show and those were the NXT Women’s, RAW Women’s and SmackDown Live Women’s Championship. The SmackDown Women’s Title match between the champion Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair was one that received high amounts of praise from those who viewed it.

Becky and Charlotte took each other to their limits but prior to doing so Charlotte spoke with ‘Comicbook’ to promote ‘Evolution’ and during the conversation she discussed why it was the right time for WWE to host an all-women’s event.

“I didn’t think it was possible, and I really didn’t even think about it until the Mae Young Classic happened. The classic had so much success. So, I just thought maybe it was a matter of time. So, I was really surprised when they did announce it,” she said. “Well, I think after Mae Young they weren’t surprised. I think now it makes sense, because we actually, for the first time, have enough talent, or that much depth to have an all-women’s pay-per-view. I think that’s what makes the difference,” she said. “If you only have six girls on the main roster, how are you going to an all-woman pay-per-view?”
