Tye Dillinger Injures Hand, Will Require Surgery
“The Perfect 10” becomes “The Perfect 5.”
Dillinger sustained a hand injury Monday night during a WWE live event in Macon, Georgia while taking on Shelton Benjamin in a losing effort. He’ll be forced to undergo surgery on the hand, with no clear timetable set for his return.
WWE announced that Tye Dillinger is out of his planned Smackdown Live match with United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura. He’ll be replaced by former NWA Worlds Champion R-Truth on the show.
WWE uploaded a video on Tuesday night, where Mike Rome announced that Dillinger injured his hand at a live event, which you can check out below.
Dillinger has experienced a stop-and-start career on WWE Smackdown since being called up to the main roster last year. He enjoyed one of the loudest reactions of the 2017 Royal Rumble when WWE played off of his “Perfect 10” gimmick by having him as the tenth entrant in the annual battle royal.
