The Young Bucks, Cody, Marty Scurll, Hangman Page And Kenny Omega Officially Break From Bullet Club

A long time coming.

It’s been one of the worst kept secrets in wrestling, but the Young Bucks and Cody made it official: the group is no longer part of Bullet Club and will now be known as The Elite moving forward.

The announcement came as part of a live episode of Talk is Jericho with Chris Jericho and members of The Elite on the Jericho Rock N’ Wrestling Rager at Sea.

Matt Jackson stated, “It’s not like I’m going to make this crazy announcement because it just feels natural, right? I think everyone on the ship can agree, it’s not just Kenny, me, and Nick as The Elite, we’re all elite. So, from this very day forward, why don’t we just call all of us The Elite?”

Cody Rhodes followed up by saying, “This group is no longer the Bullet Club. The Tongans, the OGs, Jay White, the Bullet Club is gonna be awesome, it’s going to thrive, it’s going to kick ass. We wish them the best of luck. This…is The Elite”

Cody was referring to himself, the Young Bucks, Hangman Page, Marty Scurll, and Kenny Omega.

Last week, Matt Jackson noted on social media that The Elite was formed back in 2016.

A rift between Bullet Club and The Elite was severed for good this past July at the G1 Special in San Francisco when Tama Tonga, Tanga Loa, and Bad Luck Fale laid waste to members of The Elite. Since then, The Elite have began to separate themselves from the Bullet Club. Earlier this month they announced their “final” Bullet Club style shirts. Later, Cody would state that he was no longer part of Bullet Club and that it was “Jay White’s thing” now.

Bullet Club OG member Tama Tonga has consistently said The Elite is not part of the Bullet Club.

New Japan owns the Bullet Club trademark and the status of The Elite is up in the air as their contracts with ROH/NJPW are set to expire early next year.
