Matt Hardy Says He’s Confident That He’ll Have An On-Screen Role When He Returns To WWE
Matt Hardy confirms that he will be back.
On September 15th, former ten-time WWE Tag Team Champion Matt Hardy released a video on his personal YouTube page and onto WWE.com in-which he stated that it was time for him to go home to his family and that he had completed his last advertised live event commitment. Hardy had made it public this past August that his pelvis and lower back where beginning to fuse due to the amount of damage that he has put his body through in his 20+ year career in pro wrestling.
Hardy stated in the aforementioned video that the September 15th live event in Texas may have been the last time that fans see “Woken” Matt Hardy in a WWE ring but when Hardy joined WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross’ ‘Ross Report’ podcast, the two parties chatted about the possibility of Hardy transitioning over to a backstage role that Matt has noted on Twitter he has taken a liking to, and the “Woken Warrior” also stated that he will be back on WWE TV and is confident that when he returns to the company it can either be for an on-screen and/or backstage role.
“It does, it definitely does interest me [A backstage role]. It is something that has been talked about. Something I’ve even experimented with a little bit in the past and that could possibly be a part of my future when I return to the company.” Hardy said. “I am very confident I’ll have an on-TV role as well but also a behind-the-scenes role and a producer role is something I think I’m destined to do one day. I don’t know if that day will be in four weeks from now, or in four years or ten years from now but I’m sure I’ll do that at some juncture.”
Prior to Matt Hardy announcing that he may have wrestled his last match in a WWE ring, he did a Q&A session on his YouTube page and to read one of the articles published here on Fightful about Matt Hardy’s Q&A, click here.
