Sasha Banks Reveals She Was Sidelined With Post-Concussion Syndrome

Sasha Banks provides clarity on why she was sidelined.

On Sept. 21, it was announced that Sasha Banks was being pulled from Mixed Match Challenge with an undisclosed injury. Banks disappeared from television and was pulled off the road in order to heal up. Not much was known about the injury, although Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet reported that Banks was dealing with a back injury.

Appearing on Conversations with Maria Menounos, Banks revealed that she was suffering from post-concussion syndrome, which is why she was kept out of the ring and off television.

“I went to several neurologists and they just pretty much told me I have post-concussion symptoms,” said Banks. “I was like, ‘Am I gonna make Evolution?’ I was really scared because we’ve been having a lot of concussion meetings with WWE about taking care of ourselves and head problems. And I was like, ‘I’m not okay. I can’t function. I can’t wrestle. I can’t drive. I can’t sleep. I can’t eat. So I need to get checked out.”

Banks returned to television on Oct. 15 on Raw, accompanying Natalya to the ring for her bout against Ruby Riott. The match broke down into a six-way brawl with Banks, Natalya, and Bayley fighting off the Riott Squad. Banks is scheduled to compete this Sunday at WWE Evolution in six-woman tag team action.
