Report: Samoa Joe Not Cleared For This Weekend’s Live Events Due To Injury

An update on the status of Samoa Joe.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reports that Samoa Joe has an undisclosed injury and has not been cleared for this weekend’s live events. Joe is being advertised for the Oct. 27 live event in Corbin, KY and the Oct. 28 live event in Asheville, NC.

Joe was previously advertised for the WWE Super Show in Boston this past Sunday, but did not appear.

The Samoan Submission Machine has not wrestled since Oct. 9 on SmackDown Live in a World Cup qualifying bout against Jeff Hardy. The match was stopped due to Joe selling a knee injury that he suffered at WWE Super Show-Down against AJ Styles. Joe tapped out to the calf crusher at Super Show-Down and had his knee heavily bandaged on the subsequent SmackDown Live event.

Joe has battled injuries throughout his WWE career. He suffered a knee injury in August 2017 and missed two months of action as a result. In January of this year, a foot injury kept Joe sidelined for three months.

Fightful will provide an update on Joe when more details are known.
