Egidijus Kavaliauskas To Headline Maurice Hooker vs. Alex Saucedo Undercard

Egidijus Kavaliauskas, one of boxing’s up-and-coming welterweight contenders will be back in the ring on ESPN+.

Top Rank Boxing announced that Kavaliauskas will fight as the top undercard fight for the November 16 card headlined by Maurice Hooker vs. Alex Saucedo for the WBO junior welterweight title. Kavaliauskas will face WBO Intercontinental champion Roberto Arriaza. The fight was previously reported to be a title eliminator for Terence Crawford’s WBO welterweight world title.

Kavaliauskas, a Lithuanian-born boxer fighting out of California, has won all 20 of his pro fights with 16 of those wins coming from inside the distance. Kavaliauskas won the NABF welterweight title on September 2017 and has retained the title twice this year with wins over David Avanesyan and Juan Carlos Abreu. Kavaliauskas is ranked by all four major governing bodies and is in the top 5 at welterweight in the WBA, WBC and WBO rankings at 147 pounds.

Arriaza, ranked No. 7 by the WBO at welterweight, is also undefeated as a pro. Having won the WBO Intercontinental title back in March, Arriaza will be taking a slight step up in competition level against Kavaliauskas.

Other undercard fighters scheduled to compete on the ESPN+ portion of the event include junior welterweight contender Cletus Seldin, undefeated light heavyweight Trevor McCumby, heavyweight knockout artist Trey Lippe Morrison and lightweight prospect Albert Bell all compete in separate bouts. The main event fight between Hooker and Saucedo will be the only fight to air on the ESPN television network and it is scheduled to air live on midnight ET.
