Vince McMahon Told Batista To Be Honest And Speak From The Heart At SmackDown 1000

It was a special occasion for Batista.

Former 6-time WWE World Champion Batista had been away from WWE for four years and left the squared circle to become a highly successful actor in Hollywood. After four long years away and a run that did not go as planned, Batista returned home to WWE and to his home-city of Washington D.C. for the 1000th episode of SmackDown

Batista reunited with Evolution (Triple H, Ric Flair and Randy Orton) and the band was back together as a whole for the first time since 2007. While they shared the ring together Batista made a witty remark directed at Triple H and stated that Triple H has done everything that there is to do in the wrestling business except beat him which drew a massive reaction from the crowd and many fans are already throwing the idea of a Triple H versus Batista match out to the universe. Leading up to his return at SmackDown 1000, a WWE cameraman named Dustin followed “The Animal” around throughout his day and Batista went from Toronto where he was filming a movie, to Washington D.C. for SmackDown and back to Toronto all in the same day. All of this was captured on camera and as Batista came from behind the curtain once the Evolution segment was over, he shared the words he received from WWE Chairman Vince McMahon and discussed what the reuniting of Evolution meant to him.

“I told Vince how nervous I was. He said, ‘First thing you do when you go out there is just tell them. Be honest, speak from the heart.’ So first thing I said was I’m nervous because I was and I didn’t want to throw any punches… I was nervous man. It’s a special thing with Evolution man. It’s just a special group and even… I know it’s a newer audience but they can feel it man. There’s a special vibe between all of us. There always has been, there always will be so it’s a timeless energy.” He continued, “I miss that energy, I miss that immediate feedback so, see where it goes but it was an honor to be here for this especially since it’s my hometown so it made it so special.”
