Report: Ben Saunders Replaces Sultan Aliev At UFC 230, Faces Former Bellator Champ Lyman Good

Sultan Aliev has suffered an injury and has been pulled from UFC 230 according to Mark La Monica of Newsday, replacing him against Lyman Good is Ben Saunders.

Good (19-4-0-1NC) has won just one of two fights under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Andrew Craig at UFC Fight Night 71. Good hasn’t picked up a win in almost three years, as the aforementioned victory over Craig took place on July of 2015. Good is also a former Bellator MMA Welterweight Champion, defeating Omar De La Cruz at Bellator 11 to claim the gold.

Saunders (22-10-2) has picked up a victory in just one of his last four bouts in the UFC, with that lone win coming over Jake Ellenberger at UFC Fight Night Utica. Saunders has had three separate runs in the UFC, earning a combined record of 8-8-0 in those separate times with the promotion. Saunders is also back on a UFC pay-per-view card for the first time in over eight years, with his last such appearance coming at UFC 117 in August of 2010.

UFC 230 takes place on Saturday, November 3 from Madison Square Garden in New York, New York with Daniel Cormier and Derrick Lewis headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
