Exclusive: UFC 230’s Karl Roberson Says Nobody Would Fight Him At UFC 224 Because He’s Too Dangerous

Karl Roberson is back in the Octagon this November at UFC 230, with Jack Marshman serving as his opponent.

The middleweight prospect hasn’t competed since UFC 224 and that’s because the UFC couldn’t find somebody willing to fight him.

“They couldn’t find anybody to sign the contract because I was too dangerous, I thought me getting choked out could’ve gotten somebody to say ‘maybe he’s got an opening in his game.’ He was still saying I’m a little too dangerous for our rankings, trying to fight top guys. So no one wanted to sign a contract,” says Roberson in an exclusive interview with Fightful’s James Lynch.

Roberson is a fighter known for finishing fights, as none of his battles have gone past the first round in over three years.

One thing Roberson feels is that he is being overlooked by many right now and the fighter has a plan to change that at UFC 230.

“Yeah, you know I’m always looking for the finish. Its gonna be a massacre, going out there with a chip on my shoulder because I feel like I’m being overlooked as the new prospects are coming out. People are starting to look past me and I feel disrespected, I got to make a statement and unfortunately he’s the guy that’s got to get the statement made on. I’m going to go out there looking to hurt him,” says Roberson.

UFC 230 takes place on Saturday, November 3 from Madison Square Garden in New York, New York with Daniel Cormier and Derrick Lewis headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
