Michael Conlan Fighting On October 20 ESPN+ Card In Las Vegas
Irish prospect and rising featherweight star Michael Conlan will continue his global tour as he continues to gain experience in order to challenge for a world title someday.
Top Rank Boxing announced that Conlan will fight Nicola Cipolletta in an eight-round featherweight bout on October 20 at Park Theater at the Park MGM.
Conlan, who competed in the 2016 Olympics, started his pro career on a strong note, winning all eight of his fights, five of which were by knockout. As a pro, Conlan has already competed in New York, Chicago, Northern Ireland and Australia and is now making his Las Vegas debut.
Cipolletta is an Italian fighter sporting a 14-6-2 who previously held the Italian national featherweight and previously challenged for the national super featherweight and WBO European super featherweight titles. Cipolletta is coming off a stoppage win over Jozsef Ajtai back in August.
Also appearing on the undercard is Vladimir Nikitin, who turned pro back in July with a six-round decision victory against Edward Kakembo. Nikitin will face Clay Burns in an eight-round featherweight contest.
The following fights have also been announced for the undercard:
- Esquiva Falcao vs. Guido Pitto: Middleweight bout
- Fazliddin Gaibnazarov vs. Wilberth Lopez: Welterweight bout
- Joseph Adorno vs. Kevin Cruz: Lightweight bout
- Adam Lopez vs. Hector Ambriz: Featherweight bout
- David Kaminsky vs. Noah LaCoste: Middleweight bout
The fight between Conlan and Cipolletta will be the top undercard fight for the WBA “regular” middleweight title fight between champion Ryota Murata and mandatory challenger Rob Brant.
