Marty Scurll vs. KUSHIDA Locked In For The IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship Tournament Finals

The finals are set.

At NJPW’s G1 Special this past July, Hiromu Takahashi put the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship on the line against Dragon Lee. The two rivals took one another to the limit but unfortunately an incident occurred where Hiromu was dropped directly on his head and although he was able to finish the match he was not in good condition.

It was soon revealed that Hiromu was going to be out of commission for quite some time and his diagnosis in terms of the time table for his return has still yet to be unveiled. In wake of Hiromu not being able to compete, a tournament was announced to crown a new IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion featuring BUSHI, Marty Scurll, Will Ospreay and KUSHIDA. KUSHIDA defeated BUSHI earlier this month at ‘Destruction In Kobe’ and tonight at NJPW ‘Fighting Spirit Unleashed’ in Long Beach, Ospreay and Scurll re-lit the flame on their feud once again to move one step closer to becoming IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion.

Marty Scurll and Ospreay went to war per usual whenever they step into the ring together and on this occasion Scurll got the best of Ospreay once again and is now locked in to face KUSHIDA at ‘King Of Pro Wrestling’ on October 8th and the winner of that bout will be crowned the new IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion.
