Rob Conway States That Randy Orton Helped Him Get The Guest Coaching Position At The WWE Performance Center

Rob Conway is enjoying what he’s doing.

The WWE Performance Center is a place that has seen the likes of Kevin Owens, Finn Balor, Sami Zayn, Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks come through its walls and the P.C. is also filled with coaches and trainers who have a great deal of experience in the land of professional wrestling who are passing on their knowledge to the next generation of athletes. Names like Norman Smiley, Robbie Brookside, Matt Bloom and Shawn Michaels among others are names that are prominent figures in the Performance Center.

There are also guest trainers that come to the facility to work with talent much like how Shane “Hurricane” Helms has, Edge and Christian, Lance Storm and most recently former NWA World Heavyweight Champion Rob Conway was a guest coach at the Performance Center. WWE’s camera crew caught up with Conway and asked him how he came into the position of guest coaching and he revealed that it was by way of “The Viper” Randy Orton.

“Well, it started talking a lot to Randy Orton. He’s somebody that I helped when he first started and he had asked me what involvement I would want to stay in wrestling because my in-ring career is coming to a close and I told him that I really enjoy helping people, and training people. I’ve done it in the past so he let the office in WWE know that it was something I was interested in and we kind of went from there. Its worked out great.” Conway shared.

The former member of ‘La Résistance’ went on to speak about how things have changed in developmental since he was coming up in the business. Conway stated that a facility like the Performance Center provides a greater chance for wrestlers to make their dreams come true.

“I mean it’s so much different. It’s still.. Guys and girls working really hard. Everybody having a dream and wanting it to become a reality but the new P.C. is so much more advanced as far as how many rings. The facility itself is… it’s just so much more conducive to learning faster, and that’s the thing is that everybody wants their dream to come true and they want it to come true faster and the facility is so nice, there’s more coaches, more rings. Its just evolved from the… I was there in the beginning stages of developmental, and to see where its come is really light years as far as the facility but as far as the talent, I mean it’s the same, hard work, and having a dream and wanting it to become a reality. Just a nicer, better facility – that can happen faster.” He concluded.
