Daniel Bryan: “The Way I View Pro Wrestling Is Different From The Way A Lot Of People View It”

D.B. breaks it down.

Arizona resident Daniel Bryan was recently in attendance at an Arizona Diamondbacks game and on top of throwing out the first pitch, Bryan was interviewed by local news outlets – one of which was ABC 15 Arizona. Arizona and ‘Chase Field’ is home to the Arizona Diamondbacks but it will also play host to the WWE come 2019 when the company holds their Royal Rumble weekend in the “Grand Canyon State”. NXT TakeOver: Arizona is taking place at the ‘Talking Stick Resort Arena’ and the 2019 Royal Rumble PPV on January 27th will be emanating from Chase Field in front of what could be 48,000 wrestling fans.

Daniel Bryan took a glance at the stadium and started to fantasize about where he was going to be entering from on the Royal Rumble PPV.

“It’s an incredible stadium. We were actually just talking about what the metamorphosis would look like. Right now, the thought is that we’d come out of the dugout. We’ve never had a Royal Rumble in a baseball stadium before. I’m super-psyched, I’ve never come out of a dugout to go into a wrestling show before.” Bryan shared.

The conversation then transitioned to Bryan’s wheelhouse which is breaking down the art of professional wrestling. The former four-time WWE World Champion stated that he views the sport in a different way than a lot of other people view it and explained why he thinks that.

“For me, it’s always about improving and evolving my own art form, and a lot of times that involves me doing other martial arts like jiu-jitsu, kickboxing, that sort of thing, and incorporating that stuff into what I do,” he said. “The way I view pro wrestling is different from the way a lot of people view it as. I view it from the spectrum of martial arts. I look at it as my own martial art. For me, it’s a real art form that I like to work on constantly.”

Daniel Bryan also discussed his match with The Miz at WWE Super Show-Down and the winner of their matchup will secure themselves a shot at the WWE Championship in the future. To read the full interview with Daniel Bryan, click here.
