Jeff Hardy Explains The Meaning Behind His Face Paint
Jeff Hardy is… different.
Former two-time World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Hardy is being advertised for tonight’s edition of SmackDown Live. Hardy has been working the live event loop over the past week but has not been featured on WWE television since his Hell In A Cell match with Randy Orton last week. WWE’s camera crew hung out with Jeff the entire day leading up to his Hell In A Cell match. During the mini-documentary below Jeff explained the meaning behind his face paint and revealed that he feels more “sociable” when he’s all painted up opposed to when he’s not. Hardy also spoke about how the face paint is an outlet for him seeing as how he does not have time to paint on a canvas at home because of the demanding WWE schedule.
“The face paint is something that I just… when I don’t have time to paint on a canvas at home because the WWE schedule is so brutal as you know – it’s an outlet as far as I can get to the building and have this image in my head being that I don’t have a canvas I can just use my face as what I want to bring to life.” Hardy stated. “When I am all painted up its like… I kinda feel like its my alien skin. What does my soul look like when it gets out of this body and I’m on a star looking back at earth and all these crazy thoughts and will I look like an alien. All these artistic thoughts come into mind. Like it shows artistic freedom and also freedom of your soul – it’s like expression at its best and I think I am a little more sociable when I’m all painted up. I think I feel normal, quite normal. A lot more normal [than] when I’m [not painted up]. That’s Jeff Hardy, the charismatic enigma at his best when he comes out with the face paint. The face-painted freak man. I mean, that’s by far a compliment in my book.” Hardy concluded.
Jeff’s forever tag team partner Matt recently announced that it was “time to go home” and stated that he may have wrestled his last match in a WWE ring. For more information on that, click here.
