Abyss to Be Inducted To Impact Wrestling Hall Of Fame

Abyss will no longer need Hulk Hogan’s ring to be considered a Hall of Famer.

On Thursday’s episode of Impact Wrestling, the company announced that Abyss will be inducted to the 2018 Impact Wrestling Hall of Fame.

Abyss debuted on the first weekly TNA pay-per-view in June 2002 under the named Justice. He returned in June 2003 as Abyss, attacking Erik Watts before becoming the bodyguard for Kid Kash. Abyss rose to prominence at the end of 2003 during his feud with Raven. In 2004, Abyss won the NWA World Tag Team Titles with AJ Styles.

Abyss linked up with James Mitchell in 2005, taking his character to new heights. during that time, he re-entered a feud with Raven and took on the likes of Jeff Hardy, Sabu, and Christian. In 2006, Abyss won the NWA World Heavyweight Title from Sting. Abyss split from Mitchell in 2008. The two would re-unite on-screen a decade later.

Along with winning the NWA World and Tag Team Titles, Abyss is also a former TNA X Division and Television Champion. Throughout his time in TNA/Impact, he’s undergone many personality changes and feuded with a who’s who list of wrestling legends. 

The induction ceremony will take place during Bound For Glory weekend.
